Welcome to the Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MICCI). I am honoured to lead this esteemed organisation, which looks back accross 175 years of history, as its 53rd president.
Our mission is to facilitate and support Members in their goal to successfully establish and develop their businesses in Malaysia. We do this by actively championing causes on behalf of our Members and the business community as a whole with both Federal and State governments.
Over the past 12 months the Chamber’s engagement with the Government has focused in particular on Malaysia’s Competition Act and implementation guidelines as well as providing input for the New Economic Model and the 2013 Budget. Going forward, we are lobbying strongly for the modernisation and updating of labour legislation as well as further liberalisation in the service sector and continued improvemernt in efficiency within the judicial environment.
As an independent, multi-national and multi-sectoral organisation we promote a market-based regulatory framework that supports Malaysia’s goal to become a fully developed, high productivity and high income nation.
I look forward to working closely together with members, government representatives and the business community at large to further enhance MICCI’s contribution to the growth and prosperity of our Members and of the Malaysian economy.
