[MOT NEWS] Loading and Unloading Activities for Import and Export Purposes Allowed to Operate 24/7

On 12th September 2021, the Minister of Transport Datuk Seri Ir Dr Wee Ka Siong announced the loading and unloading activities for import and export purposes allowed to operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with immediate effect.

This was done to further ease the movement of all goods nationwide and make it easier for logistics and transportation companies to conduct business.

The decision was made following a request from the Ministry of Transport (MOT) to the National Security Council (MKN) in order to prevent build-up of congestion at warehouses and container yards and further ensure the smooth flow of goods as the economy picks up again.

As part of the above condition, operators must comply with all SOPs stipulated by MKN, more details can be found here (scroll down for English translation): https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1992121907621970&id=1002345083266329&m_entstream_source=timeline

The MOT wishes to remind that any violation of the associated SOPs can result in action taken under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 (Act 342). Companies are encouraged to refer to the latest SOPs as and when they are updated at www.mkn.gov.my
