Foreign Workers Recalibration Programme

Our government is still freezing new foreign workers to Malaysia but employers can consider the two programmes introduced by the government. Return Recalibration Programme and the Labour Recalibration Programme which have been implemented by the government starting from 16th November 2020 to 30th June 2021 for illegal immigrants.
Under the Return Recalibration Programme, illegal immigrants are allowed, subject to specific stipulated conditions, to return to their country of origin voluntarily.
Employers who wish to employ illegal foreign workers that are already in the country can do so under the Labour Recalibration Programme. Employment will be subject to stringent conditions determined by the Immigration Department and the Peninsular Malaysia Labour Department (JTKSM). This programme is only available for four sectors namely construction, manufacturing, plantation and agriculture.
