The Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MICCI) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Singapore International Chamber of Commerce (SICC) to strengthen business relations and develop cooperation between their respective business communities.

In a joint statement, the chambers said the partnership aims to further enhance and deepen economic ties and relations between Malaysia, particularly in Johor, and Singapore to develop a more vibrant and interconnected business environment.

“The MoU exemplifies our mutual commitment to driving stronger economic growth and development and cultivating stronger business relations. By combining our resources, knowledge, and expertise, we strive to create a dynamic and healthy environment that propels economic growth and prosperity for businesses on both sides,” MICCI president Christina Tee said.

Meanwhile, SICC deputy chairman Wong Joo Seng said: “Both our nations have fostered strong trade ties, with Singapore serving as one of Malaysia’s top trading partners and vice versa. Together, SICC and MICCI will work collaboratively driven by shared interest to overcome challenges, encourage exchange, and create opportunities that benefit our members derived from this symbiotic partnership.”

The collaboration between MICCI and SICC encompasses several key initiatives, including the commitment to mutual economic cooperation and the promotion of fellowship among their respective business communities.
