MICCI Southern Region hosted a spectacular Chinese New Year Luncheon at the beautiful Holiday Villa Johor Bahru City Center, Johor. With over 300 esteemed guests in attendance, the event was a resounding success, filled with cultural performances, insightful speeches, and meaningful connections.
The event kicked off with a mesmerizing array of performances, including captivating Lion and Dragon Dances that filled the venue with energy and spirit. The melodious tunes of the Gu Zheng and the artistry of Face Mask Changing added an enchanting touch to the festivities, delighting all in attendance.
Mr. Lee Ting Kiat, Chairman of MICCI Southern Region, extended a warm welcome to all attendees, setting the tone for the event's proceedings. Ms. Christina Tee Kim Chin, President of MICCI, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honor, delivering an inspiring speech that emphasized the importance of collaboration and growth within the business community. Mr. Ng Yong Kang, Vice-Chairman of MICCI Southern Region, concluded the speeches with a heartfelt closing address, expressing gratitude and optimism for the future.
A significant highlight of the event was the official signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between MICCI and the Singapore International Chamber of Commerce (SICC). Mr. Lee Ting Kiat, representing MICCI, and Mr. Wong Joo Seng, Deputy Chairman of SICC, signed the MOU, symbolizing a commitment to fostering stronger business ties and collaboration between the two chambers. The signing was witnessed by Ms. Christina Tee Kim Chin and Mr. Victor Mills, Executive Director of SICC, marking a momentous occasion for both organizations.
The luncheon also provided an opportunity to welcome new members into the MICCI community through the presentation of New Members Certificates, further expanding and strengthening the network of businesses and professionals within the region.
The event was graced by the presence of distinguished VVIPs, government agencies, and associations, including the Consul-General of The Republic of Singapore in Johor Bahru, Mr. Jeevan Singh, Konsulat Jenderal Republik Indonesia Johor Bahru, Pak Sigit S. Widiyanto, Deputy Chairman of Singapore International Chamber of Commerce (SICC), Mr. Wong Joo Seng, Director of Ministry of Investment, Trade & Industry (MITI), Puan Marhani Md Jelani, Deputy Superintendent of Police of Johor Bahru District, Superintendent Lim Jit Huey, Maritime Operations Officer of Maritim Negeri Johor, Lieutenant Commander (M) Mirza Amin Bin Abd Samad. Along with other representatives from various government bodies such as IRDA, MIDA, MATRADE, Bank Negara Malaysia, and High Commission of Canada, as well as esteemed associations like The Johore Master Builders Association (JMBA), Johor Bahru Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JBCCCI) and Malaysia Retail Chain Association (MRCA). Additionally, representatives from MICCI Central and Northern Regions added to the camaraderie and sense of unity among attendees.
