LOGISTICS AND INFRASTRUCTURE COUNCIL VISIT TO SIRIM ACADEMY

On 23rd January 2025, the Logistics and Infrastructure (L&I) Council had the honor of conducting a courtesy visit to Tuan Nik Sazali Nik Hussin, CEO of SIRIM Academy, accompanied by members of SIRIM's top management. The meeting was led by Dato’ Sasedharan Vasudevan, Chairman of the L&I Council, and included a distinguished delegation from the Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MICCI).

Mr. Lee Han Ling, Executive Director, and Ms. Harpreet Kaur represented MICCI, while the L&I Council delegation included Mr. Kim Tan and Mr. Srinivaran. Mr. Wayne Shu Guo Qui of MICCI coordinated and organized the visit and discussions.

The meeting was highly productive, featuring an informative presentation by SIRIM Academy’s key representatives, which emphasized the principles of sustainability. Several key initiatives and opportunities for collaboration were discussed, with future partnerships in green logistics standardization and outreach programs identified as priority areas. Both parties recognized the importance of aligning logistics practices with sustainability goals to support Malaysia’s commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles.

Additionally, potential training collaborations between SIRIM Academy and MICCI were explored, focusing on equipping industry players with the knowledge and skills required to adopt ISO standards, other standardization frameworks, and green logistics practices. These training programs aim to raise greater awareness and provide practical solutions for businesses.

This meeting laid a solid foundation for future partnerships and reinforced the shared vision of SIRIM Academy and the L&I Council to drive sustainability in the logistics and infrastructure sectors.
