JOHOR - SINGAPORE SPECIAL ECONOMIC ZONE (JS-SEZ) Joint Business and Investment Forum
1. We are delighted to share that our President, Ms. Christina Tee was invited as a panelist at the Johor - Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ) Joint Business and Investment Forum organized by the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) on 21 April 2025 at the Persada Johor International Convention Centre, Johor Bahru.
2. Held under the theme “Bridging Economies, Strengthening Supply Chains, Business, Investment & Services, Trade” the event served as a key platform for dialogue and collaboration between Malaysia and Singapore.
3. Speaking on the panel “Unlocking Supply Chain Opportunities for Local Companies”, Ms. Christina emphasized the importance of collaboration between the Johor State Government, the Malaysian Federal Government, and the Singapore Government.
4. She highlighted that such co-operation is key to realizing the JS-SEZ’s full potential as a win-win opportunity for all stakeholders. However, she also stressed the importance of preferential policies from the government to ensure that both businesses and the public sector can benefit sustainably from this initiative.
5. Meanwhile, she also shared that her company CAPE EMS Berhad is exploring the opportunity to expand into the JS-SEZ zone.
6. We are proud of her representation at this impactful event and the role MICCI continues to play in shaping the economic future of the region.
7. MICCI Southern was represented by Branch Chairman, Mr. Lee Ting Kiat, Branch Treasurer, Mr. Isaiah Cheong and Executive Committee member, Mr. Germain Thomas at the JS-SEZ Investment Forum.
8. This high-level JS-SEZ Investment Forum brought together over 900 participants. Including government officials, business leaders, investors, and development partners.
