[MOHA News] Latest Foreign Worker Employment Plan And Recalibration Plan For Illegal Immigrants 2.0

On 17th January 2023, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA) has released the new loosen Foreign Worker Employment Plan and the Recalibration Plan for Illegal Immigrants 2.0.
The key highlights of the new Foreign Worker Employment Plan as below:
- The new Foreign Worker Employment Plan will be effective from January 2023 until 31st March 2023.
- Employers must settle the levy payment at the Immigration Department before identifying foreign workers in the source country.
- Within six months of the foreign worker's entry into Malaysia, the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Human Resources will conduct an audit to ensure that they have properly been accorded with proper accommodation, medical papers and other related legal requirements.
At the same time, the government has decided to extend the Recalibration Plan for Illegal Immigrants (PATI) 2.0 until December 2023.
