MICCI Virtual Courtesy Call With YBhg. Datuk Johan Mahmood Merican, Secretary-General Of Treasury, Ministry Of Finance

On 28th April 2023, MICCI organised a virtual courtesy call to the Secretary-General of Treasury, Ministry of Finance, YBhg. Datuk Johan Mahmood Merican. The virtual delegation was led by our National Vice presidents, Dato’ Azman Shah Mohd Yusof, CEO of Northport and Ms. Renuka Indrarajah, Corporate Affair and Legal Director of Heineken Malaysia Berhad. Our Executive Director, Mr. Shaun Edward Cheah moderated this session.
The delegates who attended includes Mr. Kelvin Kee (Ferrucci Worldwide Sdn Bhd), Vice-Chairman of MICCI Central Branch, Mr. Naidu (Mettube Sdn Bhd), and members of the Taxation and Budget Council (T&B), Mr. Raja Kumaran (PwC) Co-Chairman, Mr. Tai Lai Kok (KPMG) Co-Chairman, Dr Veerinderjeet Singh (Tricor), Ms. Annie Thomas (PwC), Mr. Benedict Francis (PwC), Ms. Geeta Balakrishnan (PwC). Ms. Intan Farah (PMI), Mr. Shamil Norshidi (PMI), Mr. Sharul azhar Shaari, Ms. Kalsumawati binti Mohd Aris (Shell), and Ms. Joanne Wong (Heineken).
It was a valuable and fruitful meeting where members discussed various issues and brought their proposals to alleviate the burden of high electricity rates, green tax rebates, group relief, and re-activating the Multi-Agency Task Force to combat illegal beer and cigarette smuggling. MICCI looks forward to working with the Ministry in the future engagements to support Malaysia MADANI envision a brighter future.
